Whoopi

Whoopi is a sitcom television series starring Whoopi Goldberg who plays Mavis Rae, a member of the one-time, one-hit band 'The Ebony Blackbirds'. The series revolves around the events and people at her hotel, the Lamont Hotel in New York City.

Cast and Characters

Mavis Rae, an irritated one hit wonder, reduced to running a small and unsuccessful NYC hotel. Played by Whoopi Goldberg.
Nasim, The Le Mont's Persian janitor with implied terrorist connections. Played by Omid Djalili
Courtney Rae, Mavis' brother. He had a job at Enron, and now lives in a room in Mavis' hotel. He is the complete opposite to his sister in every way. Played by Wren T. Brown.
Rita, Courtney's 'culturally confused' girlfriend. Mavis dislikes Rita, and disaproves of their relationship. Played by Elizabeth Regen.
