Spanish people

The Spanish people or Spaniards are an ethnic group native to Spain, in southwestern Europe, who are primarily descended from the autochthonous pre-Indo-European Euskaldunak, Latin, Visigothic, Celtic and Moorish peoples. They are most commonly associated with the Spanish language.

There are around 31.6 million people native speakers of Castilian Spanish in Spain, and a total of 42.5 million of the Spanish nationality.

Their descendants are also present in the hundreds of millions throughout the Hispanic nations of Latin America in the form of creoles, mestizos and mulattos, where their collective numbers constitute the bulk of the Hispanic American population.
