Sandy the Golden Boy

Sandy the Golden Boy is a DC Comics superhero created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

He was originally the sidekick to the original Sandman. He was a member of the Young All-Stars, a team that was later absorbed into the All-Star Squadron. He was later turned into a monster and, after being turned back by Sandman and the Justice League, found that he had various earth-related powers, notably the ability to transform himself into sand. He changed his codename to Sand and led the modern incarnation of the JSA for a time.

 During the "Princes of Darkness" saga, Sand was thought destroyed preventing multiple earthquakes on Earth but was put into a limbo.  He was recently saved and is now back with the JSA.
