Room
ja:部屋
A room is an enclosed space in a house or other building. A room may have any number of doors and windows regulating light, airflow and access to the room. Large rooms are often named halls, small ones closets. Hall may also refer to a long, narrow room which serves purely as an access to other rooms (i.e. a corridor, a passage, or a hallway).
Rooms have specific names based on the purpose they were built for, or are being used for. A room for cooking food, for example, is called a kitchen. Other rooms in homes are the entry, living room, family room, recreation room or rec room, dining room, bedroom, bonus room, study (office, library), bathroom, laundry room, furnace room, workshop, basement and storage closet.
Waiting rooms are in train stations, bus stations, at the doctor, etc.
In a clothing store a dressing room is a place where one tries on clothes.
Planning of room structure, use and interior decoration are part of the discipline of architecture.
Room also means needed space.

In Interactive Fiction ("adventure games"), a room is a basic unit of location. A room might refer to an actual room, but it could also be just part of a room, a field, a section of road, or even an entire world.
