Porgy and Bess
Porgy and Bess is an opera with music by George Gershwin, based on the novel Porgy by DuBose Heyward. "Summertime" and "I loves you, Porgy" are the most recognized of its songs.
The opera was premiered on October 10, 1935 at the Alvin Theater in New York City.
