Pak sarzamin shad bad

"Pak sarzamin shad bad" ("Blessed be the Sacred Land") is the national anthem of Pakistan. It was adopted in 1954, the same year that Pakistan became a republic. The lyrics are written by the famous Pakistani poet Abul Asar Hafeez Jullundhri, and the music composed by Ahmed G. Chagla.

Tu nishane azme alishan

Arze Pakistan

Markaze yaqin shadbad.

Pak sarzamin ka nizam

Quwate akhuwate awam

Qaum, mulk, Sultanat

Painda tabinda bad

Shad bad manzile murad.

Parchame sitarao hilal

Rahbare tarraqio kamal

Tarjumane mazi, shane hal, jane istaqbal

Sayya-ai, khudae Zuljalal.

Blessed be the sacred Land

Happy be the bounteous realm

Symbol of high resolve

Land of Pakistan

Blessed be thou citadel of faith

The order of this sacred land

Is the might of the brotherhood of the People

May the nation, the country, and the state

Shine in glory everlasting

Blessed be the goal of our ambition

This Flag of the Crescent and Star
