Ornithorhynchus </table> Ornithorhyncidae is one of two families in the order Monotremata, and contains all species of platypus. (The other family is the Tachyglossidae, or echidnas). Within Ornithorhynchidae are two genera, Obdurodon and Ornithorhynchus:
