Neil Mallon Bush (born January 22, 1955 in Midland, Texas, attended St. Albans School) is the son of President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush and younger brother of President George W. Bush and Governor Jeb Bush. He was on the board of directors of Silverado Savings and Loan during the 1980s and was a focal point of publicity stemming from the savings and loan crisis (The failure of Silverado cost the federal taxpayers $1 billion). No criminal charges were presented against Bush and a civil action brought against him and the other Silverado directors by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was settled. Bush was fined $50,000 and restricted from future banking activity.

He and his former wife of 23 years, née Sharon Smith, now divorced, are the parents of three children, including model Lauren Bush. He was remarried on March 6, 2004 to Maria Andrews in Houston, Texas.

Neil was named after a good friend of the family, Henry Neil Mallon, chairman of Dresser Industries, George H. W. Bush's employer (Mallon had himself been hired by George Herbert Walker, GHWB's grandfather).

In 1999 Bush cofounded an educational-software company, Ignite!, which uses "multiple intelligences" methods to provide varying types of content to appeal to multiple learning styles.
