Namur (city)

Namur (Namen in Dutch) is a city and a municipality located in the Belgian province of Namur, of which it is the capital. It is also the capital of Wallonia, one of the three regions of Belgium. On January 1st, 2002 Namur had a total population of 105,393 (50,363 males and 55,030 females). The total area is 175.75 km² which gives a population density of 599.68 inhabitants per km².The municipality of Namur is build on 3 different regions : North : "Hesbaye", South East: "Condroz" South West : "Entre Sambre et Meuse" and center along the river "La Meuse" and her affluent "La Sambre".
