Musikverein, Vienna

   

The Musikverein in Vienna, Austria, was inaugurated on January 6, 1870 and is famous for its acoustics. It is the home base for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert hall is 48 meters long, 19 meters wide, and 18 meters high. It has 1,744 seats and standing room for 300. Every year on January 1st the Vienna New Year's Concert is held here.

From 2001, the building had been undergoing renovation. Several new rehearsal and concert halls have since been installed within the building.
