Melbourne Airport
- There is about the Australian airport. See Melbourne International Airport for the airport of Melbourne, Florida.
Melbourne Airport is located in the suburb of Tullamarine, Victoria, Australia, near Melbourne. It is a hub for Qantas and has the IATA Airport Code MEL.
When the airport was built to replace the smaller Essendon Airport, many Melburnians wanted it to be called Tullamarine Airport. The name Melbourne Airport was eventually adopted by the government of the day to assist in international recognition. However, many older people still refer to it as Tullamarine Airport.
