Meghnad Saha

Meghnad Saha (मेघनाथ साहा) (October 6 1893 – February 16 1956) was an Indian astrophysicist.

He made a major theoretical contribution to understanding the ionization of stellar atmospheres. He derived the Saha ionization equation.

At the time of his death he was Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Calcutta.
