Maria of Brabant

Maria of Brabant, queen of France, was the daughter of Henry III, Duke of Brabant and became the second wife of Philip III of France in 1274. She was the mother of Louis d'Evreux, Marguerite (wife of Edward I of England), and Blanche, wife of Rudolf I of Germany. Due to her influence Philip became involved in the affairs of the Angevins and in hostilities with the Kingdom of Aragon.
