Leslie Scarman

   

Leslie Scarman, Baron Scarman, PC (born 29 July 1911), is a retired Law Lord, and now a cross bench member of the House of Lords.

As a judge, Scarman's career was controversial. He is best known for producing a report on the causes of the race riots in Brixton in 1981. He was created an OBE in 1966 and later knighted.

In 1991 he set up the Scarman Trust.
