Kounosu (Japanese: 鴻巣市; -shi) is a city located in Saitama, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 84,145 and the density of 2,345.83 persons per km&sup2. The total area is 35.87 km&sup2.

The city was founded on September 30, 1954.
