International Marketplace

International Marketplace is an economically-failing shopping center in the city of San Pablo in western Contra Costa County, California. Formerly known as El Portal, It has high vacancy rates, no anchor stores since the moving of Mervyn's California in 1995 to Pinole Vista Shopping Center in Pinole, and a planned multiplex plan fizzled out. Half of the center has been torn down and condominiums and townhomes have been built in a gated community called Arbella by Signature Properties. It is adjacent to Contra Costa College and a planned BART station.
