Huascar, in full Inti Cusi Huallpa Huáscar (“Sun of Joy”) (died 1532, Cajamarca, Peru), Inca chieftain and legitimate heir to the Inca Empire, who was defeated and later assassinated by his half brother Atahuallpa in a devastating civil war for the control of the empire.
