Count Georg von Hertling (August 31, 1843January 4, 1919) was a Bavarian politician who served as Imperial Chancellor of Germany from 1917 to 1918. Quite old when he became Chancellor, despite his connection to the Catholic Centre Party, he was seen as a puppet of the military high command, led by Paul von Hindenburg and Erich Ludendorff.
