Chingy (born March 9, 1980 [1] (http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/chingy/bio.jhtml)) is a rapper from St. Louis, Missouri. Chingy arguably came into the spotlight after his song Right Thurr, from his album, Jackpot, hit the airwaves. However, Chingy is not a one-hit wonder; subsequent to the success of Right Thurr, Holidae Inn (also on his Jackpot album) climbed the charts, followed by One Call Away. In 2004, he has released a new album called Powerballin', featuring a new single called "Balla Baby".

Name Choice

Chingy, born Howard Bailey, Jr., chose the Stage name Chingy, slang for "money" [2] (http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/chingy/bio.jhtml) after deciding he wanted to avoid the stereotypical thug-style names [3] (http://www.chingy.com/biography.php).
