Casper the Friendly Ghost

   

Casper the Friendly Ghost is the main character of the cartoon of the same name, which originated with a 1945 short from Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios. In the early 1950s, He started out as he became one of the most popular comic book characters from Harvey Publications.

As his name indicates, he is a ghost, but is quite friendly. He tends not to frighten children, although is encouraged to. He is being "trained" by three other mischevious ghosts and is always wondering what he should do. Ultimately he always chooses to be nice because he is not very good at being a mean ghost. Casper has also been the main character in a feature film called Casper.


Casper is also the name of a freestyle skateboarding trick.
