Burma Road

The Burma Road is a road linking Burma (now Myanmar) and China. Its terminals are Kunming and Lashio, Burma.

It is probably most famous to Westerners for its strategic role in World War II, where the Allied Powers used the Burma Road to transport supplies to China. At that time, Burma was a colony of the United Kingdom. When the Japanese overran sections of the Burma Road the Allies flew supplies over the Hump and built the Ledo Road.
