Beaux-Arts

Beaux Arts was an architectural style that was popular in the early twentieth century. The name comes from the École des Beaux Arts in Paris where this style was practised. The emphasis was towards producing quick sketch schemes involving beautiful drawings and detailing without much emphasis on real context such as site considerations. History was heavily drawn upon.

The phrase Beaux Arts is usually translated as Fine Arts in English.
