Alemannic language

Alemannic (Alemannisch) is an Upper German language of the Germanic language family.

Alemannic comprises the following variants:

High Alemannic, better known as Swiss German or Schwyzerd�tsch (mostly in Switzerland)
Highest Alemannic or Walser (originally in the Wallis Canton of Switzerland). The Term "Swiss German" often includes also Walser as a Swiss Alemannic variant.
Low Alemannic dialects:
- Alsatian (in Alsace, France)
- Swabian (mostly in Schwaben, in Germany)
- Alem�n Coloneiro (in Venezuela)

SIL: GSW (Swiss variety)
ISO 639-2: gem (for "Germanic (Other)")
