Alberto Guerrero

   

Alberto Guerrero (6 February 1886, - 7 November 1959) was a Chilean - Canadian composer, pianist, and teacher, perhaps now best remembered as the mentor of Canadian pianist Glenn Gould. Prior to his emigration to Canada, Guerrero founded and conducted Santiago's first symphony orchestra. For many years a distinguished faculty member of the Toronto Conservatory of Music, Guerrero also maintained an active schedule as a performer.
